About Type of Faith

Inspiration
Type of Faith (ToF) is a Bible‑based typing game rooted in the Christian faith. It was created from the belief that the time we spend practising any skill can be meaningful. Typing is something many of us do every day for work, study, communication and organisation, yet people often feel limited by their current ability. Many want to improve but lack motivation or accessible ways to practise.
The same is true for Scripture. Some people genuinely want to read and understand the Bible, but the traditional approach of opening a book and reading can feel tedious or difficult to sustain. The traditional method absolutely has its place, but ToF offers a fresh way to engage with Scripture. It can even make regular Bible study feel more manageable at the same time.
Purpose
The purpose of ToF is to encourage users to learn Scripture while improving typing speed and accuracy. The Bible encourages us to know the Word, and Jesus’ time in the wilderness shows the importance of having Scripture in our hearts. When tempted, He responded three times with Scripture. One example is Matthew 4:4, where Jesus says, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone but by every word of the living God.’”
What Makes It Unique
Most typing games use random words or filler sentences. ToF uses Scripture, which means every practice session is time spent in the Word. Alongside the lessons and practice modes, ToF includes Race and Quiz modes that can be played alone or with others. Whether you are a complete beginner working through the lessons or an experienced typist chasing a personal best on the Daily Challenge, the content you are practising is worth knowing by heart.
The site is free to use. There are no paywalls on the core features, no ads obscuring the content, and no account required to start practising. Creating an optional account lets you track your progress, compete on the leaderboard and maintain a daily streak.

Everyone is welcome to explore ToF, regardless of their background, current beliefs, or typing ability. It’s designed to be accessible and enjoyable for a wide range of users, including:
- New typists who want to learn touch typing but find generic practice uninspiring.
